I have heard that timing matters in forex. When is the best session to trade EUR/USD?

Avoid trading 30 minutes before and after major news releases. The spread widens dramatically and slippage can be severe.

EUR/USD is most active during the London-New York overlap: 1pm-5pm London time (8am-12pm EST). Best liquidity and tightest spreads.
