A pip is the 4th decimal place for most pairs (0.0001). For JPY pairs it is the 2nd decimal (0.01). On a standard lot EUR/USD, 1 pip = $10.

Pip value = (pip size / exchange rate) × lot size × 100,000. Most brokers calculate this automatically — just focus on understanding what it represents.
