Volume Profile for Scalpers: Using VWAP and Volume Nodes as Key Levels

Volume Profile is one of the most powerful tools available to scalpers who have access to volume data. Here's how to use it: **What Volume Profile shows:** The quantity of contracts/lots traded at each price level over a defined period. This creates a histogram showing WHERE the most volume occurred — the Volume Point of Control (VPOC) and Value Area. **Key concepts for scalpers:** **VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price):** The average price weighted by volume for the current session. Institutions often benchmark performance to VWAP. Great scalping level: fade moves away from VWAP back toward it. **High Volume Node (HVN):** Price levels where lots of trades occurred. Price tends to slow down and consolidate near HVNs. Good for fade/range scalps. **Low Volume Node (LVN):** Price levels where very few trades occurred. Price tends to move through them quickly. Good for breakout scalps. **Practical scalping application:** - Short-term scalps: VWAP is your primary level - Sessions with VWAP at a key technical level = extra confirmation - Identify HVNs for range scalps and LVNs for momentum entries Do you use Volume Profile or VWAP in your scalping?
