Pairs vs Indices Scalping: What's Your Primary Instrument?

One of the defining choices for an elite scalper is what instrument to focus on. The two main camps: **Forex Scalpers (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc.):** - 24-hour market — trade any session - Very tight spreads on ECN (0.0–0.3 pips) - Deep liquidity for large lots - Pairs move in both directions equally — no structural upward bias **Index Scalpers (NQ, ES, DAX futures):** - Limited trading hours but very high volume during those hours - Tick data and order flow tools work better on central exchange - Higher notional value per contract — harder for small accounts - Clear price action patterns during US/EU market hours **My observation:** The best scalpers I know who trade forex pairs are on EUR/USD or GBP/USD exclusively. The best index scalpers tend to focus on either NQ or ES, not both. Specialization within a single instrument creates deep pattern recognition. Breadth creates confusion. What's your primary scalping instrument, and what led you to choose it?
