How Many Trades Per Day Do You Take When Scalping?

Scalping trade frequency is a highly personal element of the style. I've seen successful scalpers on opposite ends of the spectrum: **Low frequency scalpers (3–5 trades/day):** Wait only for A+ setups. High selectivity. Win rate often 65–70%. Mentally easy to manage but requires patience. **High frequency scalpers (20–50 trades/day):** Trade multiple pairs, multiple setups per session. Lower win rate acceptable because of frequency. Requires intense focus and fast execution. **My current approach:** 4–7 trades per London session. By the NY session my decision-making quality drops and errors increase — so I stop. I've also noticed that my worst days correlate directly with my highest trade count — when I'm down, I overtrade to recover. What's your daily scalp count? And have you found an optimal number that maximizes your performance without fatigue or overtrading?
