Gold trade recap from today — a tough one mentally. Entered long at $2,362 this morning at the London open after seeing a clean bullish engulfing on the 1H chart at the demand zone. At 10:30 AM, a Fed official made comments that spooked markets. Gold dropped $18 in 8 minutes to $2,344 — blew through my stop at $2,350. Loss: -0.8% account. Then — classic — gold recovered to $2,375 within the hour. The setup was right, the level was right, but I got stopped by Fed noise. Lesson learned: Before entering gold positions, I need to check the Fed speaker calendar. I didn't today. A Fed official speaking at 10:15 AM EST was on the calendar — I just didn't check it. Never again. Have you been stopped out by Fed speaker noise on gold? How do you manage around them?
