A mindfulness practice that's quietly transformed my trading: the 60-second pre-trade check. Before placing any trade, I pause for exactly 60 seconds and answer three questions in my head: 1. "Why am I taking this trade right now?" — If I can't articulate a specific setup reason in one clear sentence, I don't enter. 2. "What is the worst case if I'm wrong?" — This forces me to acknowledge the loss BEFORE it happens. If I'm not emotionally prepared for the worst-case loss, the size is too big. 3. "Is this the best use of my capital right now?" — Sometimes the answer is "no — I should wait for a better setup." This question saves me from settling for mediocre entries. The whole practice takes 60 seconds. But it has eliminated about 40% of my trades — the impulsive ones, the revenge trades, the "looks interesting" entries. Those 40% were destroying my results. Do you have any pre-trade mental checks? What questions do you ask yourself before entering?
